Frequently asked questions

When is the next edition?

The 11th edition of Museumnacht Maastricht will take place on Friday, 9 April 2027.

How exactly do those starting locations work?

To start the evening off right and keep waiting times as short as possible, we ask you to select a starting location. This is where you can begin your Museum Night adventure and exchange your ticket for a wristband. Is a starting location fully booked and no longer selectable? Don’t worry, this does not mean you can’t visit that venue later in the evening. Fortunately, there are plenty of unique starting locations to choose from.

This year, you can even exchange your ticket for a wristband during the day. You can do this on Friday, April 10 during regular opening hours at:

  • Boekhandel Dominicanen
  • Bonnefanten
  • Bureau Europa
  • Centre Céramique
  • Jan van Eyck Academie
  • Lumière Cinema
  • Maastricht Store
  • Natural History Museum
  • Theater aan het Vrijthof

PLEASE NOTE: Theater aan het Vrijthof, Maastricht Store, and S.A.C.59 are NOT starting locations during the evening (20:00 – 01:00)!

I have a ticket — now what?

Upon presentation of your ticket (printed or on your smartphone), you will receive a wristband at your chosen starting location. This wristband gives you access to ALL participating venues, as well as the (shuttle) buses and the shuttle boat. You are free to decide what time you start, but we recommend exchanging your ticket for a wristband before 21:00.

If you have a combo ticket and are 18 years or older, you can also dance until 05:00 at the official afterparty at the Muziekgieterij. Please note: age will be checked at the door, and even if you have an afterparty wristband, you will unfortunately not be allowed in if you are under 18.

Help, it’s happening and I don’t have a ticket!

If Museumnacht is sold out, no tickets will be available at the venues. You can still try to find one via Ticketswap.

I can’t wait — what time does it start?

The venues are open from 20:00 to 01:00. At the pre-afterparty in Lumière, you can stay until 02:00. At the Muziekgieterij, you can attend the official afterparty from 00:00 to 05:00, PROVIDED you are over 18 and, of course, have a combi ticket!

How can I make the most of Museumnacht Maastricht?

For this, we have a super handy app, where you can explore the full program and plan your route, so you won’t miss a thing.

On the app:

  • Discover the full program in one overview
  • Create your own route with favorites
  • Receive reminders before your favorite events
  • Navigate with an interactive map
  • Stay updated on last-minute changes
  • Less paper = more eco-friendly

Good to know:

  • No account needed — just download and go
  • Works offline (tip: download the app in advance)
  • Uses little battery
  • Takes up little storage space
  • Your data stays yours!

Besides the app, the full program is only shown on our Instagram and Facebook pages (no start times are listed there).

Getting lost during Museum Night is, of course, always a wonderful adventure!

Use of photography and video recordings

During Museumnacht Maastricht, photographs and video recordings will be made. These images are used for internal reports. Some of them will be published on social media, a selection will be used as promotional material for upcoming editions and/or provided to the media. If you do not wish to appear in images, you can inform the photographer or cameraman. You can also obtain stickers at the starting locations to indicate that your likeness may not be used by us. If you are not visibly wearing a sticker or do not object, your photo may be published.
